Today Children for Peace (Syrian Refugee Children in Ottawa) visited Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO) and hand in a cheque of the proceeding from the project "Children for Peace - From Heart to Heart". As it Eid Alfitr Fest and Canada Day, Syrian Children visited the hospital to hand in the cheque with Senator Jim Munson, Senator Mobina Jaffer, MP Mona Fortier, and City Councillor Jean Cloutier. Also it was a part of Welcoming Ottawa Week #WOW17.
In concert with Canada 150, the Humans for Peace Institution (HPI) and the Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre (OCCSC) organized a project "Children for Peace - From Heart to Heart". HPI and OCCSC hosted an art exhibition of 40 paintings drawn by the Syrian refugee children in Ottawa. This exhibition was designed to send a message of hope and gratitude from them to the sick children at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO). The paintings of the art exhibit were sold in a silent auction, all proceeds will be donated to CHEO. All paintings were sold online to collect 5000 CAD.
