Ottawa, August 2025 — The Humans for Peace Institution has released two educational videos on YouTube designed to help seniors enhance their digital safety and protect themselves from online threats. This initiative reflects the organization’s ongoing commitment to supporting older adults in a rapidly evolving digital world.

The videos provide user-friendly guidance on recognizing online scams, creating strong passwords, identifying phishing attempts, and safeguarding personal information. The aim is to empower seniors with essential tools and knowledge to navigate the internet with confidence and security.

Dr. Jamal Alsharif, President of the Humans for Peace Institution, emphasized the importance of digital awareness for older generations:

“Technology can be empowering when used safely. These videos are part of our continued mission to ensure seniors are informed, prepared, and protected online.”

This project is supported by The New Horizons for Seniors Program, Service Canada / Government of Canada, reflecting a national effort to promote digital literacy and safety among seniors.

Community members and senior organizations have welcomed the initiative, highlighting its clear instructions, practical advice, and relevance in today’s digital landscape. Many seniors face increasing risks from online fraud and phishing schemes, making accessible resources like these videos more critical than ever.

The Humans for Peace Institution plans to continue expanding its outreach efforts, offering more workshops, resources, and online educational content to help seniors build digital confidence and stay safe in their day-to-day online interactions.

The two videos are now available on the organization’s official YouTube channel.
