This holiday season, Humans for Peace Institution is proud to announce a special community initiative: Seniors Fighting Hunger, a program led by senior volunteers dedicated to supporting low-income families through the creation of nourishing and festive Christmas hampers.

With rising food insecurity affecting many households, this initiative empowers our seniors to take an active role in spreading warmth, dignity, and hope across the community. Each hamper will be filled with essential food items and holiday treats to ensure families in need can enjoy a meaningful celebration.

To make this initiative a success, we are inviting the community to join us in giving—either through financial contributions or in-kind donations.

1. Financial Donations via PayPal

Monetary contributions are the fastest and most flexible way to support the project. They allow us to fill gaps in donated items and guarantee that every hamper is complete and balanced.

2. In-Kind Donations (Non-Perishable Items)

We are collecting specific non-perishable goods to help our seniors assemble generous, high-quality hampers. Every contribution helps us build a complete package of care.

Most Needed Items:

  • Tomato sauce (No Name brand preferred)

  • Canned vegetables

  • Pasta

  • Shelf-stable juice

  • Pasta sauce

  • Canned soup (two cans needed per hamper)

  • Cookies

  • Oatmeal

  • Sugar

  • Cereal (340–395 g box size)

  • Flour

  • Coffee or tea

  • Peanut butter

  • Christmas gift bags (for final packaging)

Through Seniors Fighting Hunger, our senior volunteers are leading by example—showing that compassion, service, and community spirit can truly transform the holiday season for families who need it most.

Together, we can ensure no family is forgotten this Christmas.
