The year 2025 has been another inspiring chapter for the Humans for Peace Institution (HPI) and its dedicated medical team, who successfully performed 220 free cleft lip and palate surgeries for children in need across Madagascar and Ethiopia.

This achievement stands as a testament to HPI’s unwavering commitment to compassion, dignity, and global solidarity — transforming lives through medical care and promoting peace through healing.

Healing Beyond Borders

Throughout the year, HPI’s volunteer doctors, surgeons, and nurses traveled to underserved regions in Madagascar and Ethiopia, where access to specialized surgical care remains extremely limited. Working hand in hand with local hospitals and healthcare workers, the team provided life-changing reconstructive surgeries that not only restored smiles but also improved speech, nutrition, and confidence for hundreds of children and their families.

Each mission went beyond surgical intervention — it brought hope, empowerment, and education to the communities served.

Impact at a Glance

  • Madagascar: 148 surgeries

  • Ethiopia: 72 surgeries

The HPI medical missions were complemented by training sessions for local medical professionals, ensuring knowledge transfer and sustainable impact long after the missions concluded. The organization also provided essential surgical equipment and medical supplies to strengthen healthcare capacity in both countries.

Voices of Compassion

“A child’s smile has the power to heal hearts and unite communities,” said Dr. [Name], HPI’s Medical Program Director. “Every surgery we perform is more than a procedure — it’s a step toward a more compassionate and peaceful world.”

Families expressed overwhelming gratitude for the program, many of them seeing their children smile for the very first time.

A Vision for the Future

Encouraged by the success of the 2025 missions, Humans for Peace Institution aims to expand its reach in 2026, targeting more regions where children still lack access to safe surgical care. The organization continues to embody its mission: building peace, one healed smile at a time.
