Canada Day Gathering for Seniors
News
Ottawa, July 1, 2025 — In celebration of Canada Day, Humans for Peace Institution organized a special gathering for seniors at Claudette Cain Park on Tuesday morning. The event, held from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., brought together 12 seniors from the community for a morning of social connection, fresh air, and patriotic spirit.
The gathering featured light refreshments, friendly conversations, and an opportunity for seniors to enjoy the holiday in a safe and welcoming environment. Laughter, shared memories, and stories filled the park as participants engaged in meaningful dialogue and built new friendships.
This initiative was made possible through the generous support of The New Horizons for Seniors Program, Service Canada, and the Government of Canada, which aim to promote the well-being, inclusion, and active participation of older adults across the country.
“We are proud to provide opportunities like this where seniors feel seen, valued, and connected,” said Dr. Jamal Alsharif, President of Humans for Peace Institution. “Moments like these are at the heart of what we do.”
The event was part of a broader commitment by Humans for Peace Institution to support senior wellness through social activities, digital literacy training, and fraud prevention awareness.
