News
Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada | October 11, 2026
Humans for Peace Institution (HPI) is pleased to announce that its President, Dr. Jamal Alsharif, represented the institution in Fredericton, New Brunswick, following an invitation from Manarat Association for Community Services to deliver an educational course on online security and artificial intelligence (AI)-related scams.
Held on October 11, 2026, the course aimed to raise awareness of the growing risks associated with online activities, digital fraud, and the misuse of artificial intelligence. It provided participants with practical knowledge to help them recognize suspicious online interactions, protect their personal information, and make safer decisions in an increasingly digital world.
During the session, Dr. Alsharif addressed common online threats, including phishing messages, fraudulent websites, identity theft, impersonation scams, and deceptive communications designed to manipulate victims into sharing sensitive information or transferring money. Particular attention was given to AI-powered scams, in which criminals may use artificial intelligence to create convincing messages, imitate voices, manipulate images, or impersonate trusted individuals and organizations.
Dr. Alsharif emphasized that although digital technologies and artificial intelligence offer significant benefits, they can also be exploited by criminals. He encouraged participants to remain vigilant, verify unexpected requests for money or personal information through independent channels, use strong and unique passwords, enable two-factor authentication, and avoid clicking suspicious links or sharing sensitive information with unverified sources.
The course also highlighted the importance of digital literacy and continuous education, particularly for seniors, newcomers, and other community members who may face additional challenges navigating online services safely. By providing accessible information and practical guidance, community education can help reduce vulnerability to fraud and strengthen confidence in using digital technologies.
The invitation from Manarat Association for Community Services reflects the importance of collaboration between community organizations in promoting public awareness, digital safety, and the well-being of individuals and families.
Humans for Peace Institution extends its sincere appreciation to Manarat Association for Community Services for the invitation and warm hospitality. HPI looks forward to strengthening this relationship through future educational programs and collaborative initiatives that empower community members with the knowledge and skills needed to face emerging digital challenges.
Through its educational and community-based initiatives, Humans for Peace Institution remains committed to promoting human dignity, social inclusion, and safer, more informed communities across Canada.
