Humans for Peace Institution proudly participated in the grand launch of Maha Bharatotsav – The Great Indian Festival of Ottawa, held on Thursday, July 10th, 2025, at the Mosaic Convention Centre, located at 2465 St. Laurent Blvd.

The vibrant evening began with the traditional Lighting of the Lamp ceremony, symbolizing peace, knowledge, and the triumph of light over darkness. The event brought together members of Ottawa’s diverse communities to celebrate Indian culture, heritage, and unity through music, dance, and cultural exchange.

Dr. Jamal Alsharif, President of Humans for Peace Institution, attended the event on behalf of the organization. In his remarks, Dr. Alsharif emphasized the importance of cultural festivals in fostering mutual respect, understanding, and social cohesion.

“Events like Maha Bharatotsav are powerful reminders of the beauty found in our cultural differences and the strength we gain when we come together in celebration,” he stated.
