Mental Health Session for Seniors
News
In recognition of Mental Health Month, the Humans for Peace Institution is organizing a special in-person awareness session for seniors on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 7:30 PM, with the generous support of the New Horizons for Seniors Program – Government of Canada.
The event will focus on raising awareness and providing practical strategies to support the mental well-being of older adults, who often face challenges such as isolation, anxiety, stress, and depression. The session aims to create a welcoming and supportive environment where seniors can learn, connect, and openly discuss mental health topics.
“Mental health matters at every age,” said a spokesperson from Humans for Peace Institution. “This session is about breaking the stigma, providing education, and encouraging open conversations among seniors in our community.”
Participants will hear from mental health professionals and wellness advocates who will share helpful information on coping strategies, emotional resilience, stress management, and ways to remain socially connected and mentally active.
The event is part of Humans for Peace Institution’s ongoing commitment to supporting seniors through educational and community wellness initiatives funded by the Government of Canada.
