Celebrating 15 Years of National Seniors Day

Every year on October 1, Canadians celebrate National Seniors Day, a special occasion to recognize and appreciate the older adults who have helped shape our families, workplaces and communities.

In 2026, Canada marks the 15th anniversary of National Seniors Day. The first National Seniors Day was celebrated on October 1, 2011.

Older Canadians enrich our communities in countless ways. They share their knowledge, experience, culture, time and wisdom, while continuing to make meaningful contributions to the people around them.

To celebrate this important day, Humans for Peace Institution invites seniors from all backgrounds to join us for a warm and welcoming:
