Dr. Jamal Alsharif Honoured with the Ottawa 200 Commemorative Coin

Ottawa, Ontario – August 3, 2026

Humans for Peace Institution is proud to announce that its President and Founder, Dr. Jamal Alsharif, was honoured with the Ottawa 200 Commemorative Coin during a special ceremony held on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Diamond Jubilee Park.

The prestigious award was presented by Mark Sutcliffe, Mayor of Ottawa, together with Steve Desroches, in recognition of Dr. Alsharif's outstanding volunteerism, community leadership, and unwavering commitment to building a more inclusive, compassionate, and peaceful society.

The Ottawa 200 Commemorative Coin celebrates individuals whose dedication and service have made a lasting impact on the City of Ottawa. Dr. Alsharif was recognized for his many years of leadership through Humans for Peace Institution, where he has championed peace, multiculturalism, volunteerism, support for seniors, youth engagement, and community development.

Under Dr. Alsharif's leadership, Humans for Peace Institution has organized hundreds of community initiatives, bringing together people from diverse cultural, religious, and social backgrounds. His work has inspired thousands of volunteers and strengthened partnerships with community organizations, government agencies, and local leaders to promote unity, understanding, and social inclusion.
