Gatineau, QC – June 20, 2025
On Friday evening, Humans for Peace Institution proudly participated in a vibrant community event marking World Refugee Day, held at Place de la Francophonie, 1 Wellington Street in Gatineau’s Hull sector.
Bringing together families and individuals from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds, the event served as a powerful reminder of the resilience, hope, and strength of refugees—and the importance of building inclusive communities where everyone can thrive.
Representatives from Humans for Peace Institution joined fellow organizations, community leaders, and citizens to engage in meaningful dialogue, share stories, and celebrate the contributions of refugees to Canadian society. The organization hosted a booth that offered resources on mental health, newcomer support, and upcoming initiatives focused on empowerment and integration.
“World Refugee Day is not just about reflection; it’s about action,” said Dr. Jamal Alsharif, President of Humans for Peace Institution. “We’re here to reaffirm our commitment to creating safe, welcoming spaces for refugees and to celebrate the diversity that strengthens our communities.”
The atmosphere was festive and welcoming, with music, cultural performances, and family-friendly activities that encouraged connection and community spirit. Attendees had the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals, share their journeys, and explore collaborative opportunities.
Humans for Peace Institution continues to play a vital role in supporting refugees and marginalized groups through advocacy, education, and humanitarian outreach. Their presence at this event is part of an ongoing effort to foster peace, understanding, and dignity for all.
